Take a Path to a Healthier You on National Trails Day!

Saturday, June 4, 2005 is National Trails Day and Houston Wilderness sites are hosting volunteer trail work, guided birding walks, a wild edible plants walk, tree and plant identification tours, healthy-living information booths, and more.

Established in 1993, National Trails Day was created to bring greater awareness of the benefits and healthy pleasures that trails offer, as well as to show appreciation to agencies and businesses that develop and maintain trails. The goal of this year’s theme, “Take a Path to a Healthier You,” is to inform the public of the many health benefits of hitting the trails.
